Older Adults Are Often Overlooked

Senior Advocacy Network’s purpose is to view older adults as the humans that they are, and not merely as a legal issue to be resolved.

We strive to provide services in a warm and caring environment, using a holistic approach rather than a single-issue approach.

About Senior Advocacy Network

The Senior Advocacy Network is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Founded by Joyce Gandelman, the organization helps older adults in need of legal assistance who cannot afford traditional legal services.

The Senior Law Project provides legal services to residents of Stanislaus and Merced counties of California, who are 60 years of age or older. Services are free with no income requirements.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At Senior Advocacy Network, diversity is the presence of and high regard for differences that enhance our workplace and community. We value diversity in age, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, disability, linguistic ability and more. Additionally, we think that equity is the existence of and dedication to fair treatment, access, and opportunity for everyone; our role as an equitable provider is to proactively eliminate barriers that might otherwise disadvantage vulnerable members of our community. By ensuring inclusion, people with diverse identities are respected, valued, and made to feel welcome in our workplace.
Our dedication to DEI does not require that we all agree on every issue or that people who disagree cannot belong in a community. Our commitment does entail that we take seriously our professional, ethical, and legal obligations to respect each other’s right to be unique and that our differences motivate us to be inclusive and respectful of one another. We are always working to create a more welcoming environment where everyone can experience dignity, feel safe, and trust that their voices are heard.
In 2024, SAN received the DEI Leadership Bronze Seal from the California State Bar. We are humbled to be recognized for our dedication to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplace and in the legal profession.
